Westbrook Inn Bed & Breakfast June Newsletter 2026

Make your stay even more memorable

Bare Feet. Beach Wagon. June in Westbrook

Summer did not ease in this year. It arrived.

The art of being on the Connecticut shoreline is found in the small things. Homemade breakfast while the morning is still quiet. A kayak on the Patchogue River before anyone else is up. Salt air on the walk to West Beach. A seat by the fire when the day finally slows down.

That is what Westbrook Inn is built for. Come ready for nothing in particular.

Two things we want to share before you get here.

CT Insider named us the best waterfront and romantic stay in Connecticut. Second year in a row. We did not set out to win anything. We set out to build a place worth coming back to. Apparently those two things are the same.

We also have someone new waiting to welcome you. Stephanie is our new innkeeper. Once you hear her story you will understand why we knew she was exactly right for this place.

Summer is open. Come stay.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Inn soon,

Meri & Marcus

Kick off summer with us at the Westbrook Memorial Day Parade, passing right by our front door! Sip your morning coffee as the parade starts at 10 AM.

Stephanie didn't take the traditional road to innkeeping. She took the long one.

She came to us after working as a Park Ranger in Moab, Utah, San Diego & South Carolina, where she used to wrangle alligators out of campsites. She has travelled to Africa, 12 countries across Europe, and 45 states.

When people ask how she ended up here, she laughs and blames Gilmore Girls! Besides being a fan of those Inn running ladies, Stephanie believe delivering exceptional guest experience - whether in a National Park, or a Charming Inn.

Additionally, Connecticut is home. Family is here. The career change felt less like a decision and more like things falling into place.

She started with us in April. She's already where she belongs. Stephanie will be residing on property so please be sure to welcome her when you see her.

Stephanie kayaks, hikes, and birds. She knows every bird by call on the walk to West Beach. Her favorite local trail is the Stewart B. McKinney Wildlife Refuge, a quiet walk worth slowing down for. She loves the Patchogue River.

She loves talking with travelers because she is one.

Come say hello. She'll be watching the birds.

The kitchen is going before most guests are awake.

Coffee first. Then butter. Then the smell of both moving through the inn.

One summer at Chester Farm, the blueberries were exceptional. We came home with too many. So we cooked. Guests started asking for this recipe before they finished eating.

Thomas, who worked with us for many seasons, said it best: "Creme fraiche is the glue that holds the Inn together."

We haven't changed a thing.

Julie and Joe opened this coffee shop in retirement.

They bring in local pastries from surrounding shoreline towns and make their own syrups in-house.

The Pumpkin Chai and Almond Joy are regulars. The bagels come from Cohen's Bagel Company. Order the iced coffee.

They use coffee-based ice cubes so your drink stays strong to the last sip.
